Warning- If you have a conversation with me, it can and will end up in a blog I write. Second warning- I have been known to say excitedly in the middle of a conversation- “That would make a great BLOG!” Friends…you have been warned.
So last night at about midnight, a couple of my friends and I were sitting around the kitchen table eating Lay’s potato chips, carmel popcorn, some garlic pretzel things and tuna (they were eating, I was partaking in the great conversation and taking mental notes). Maybe the crazy menu can explain why our conversation took the turn it did, or maybe it was because after midnight, crazy things happen (ie werewolves, bats and Cinderella’s coach turns back into a pumpkin etc.)
I don’t know how it began, but we were talking about how people can be summarized like stock, mainly single people. There are many things that can contribute to positive performance of a stock as well as many negative things that can lead to a stock’s crash. How you handle a stock inevitably leads how it is purchased and who purchases it. Do you shell out good money for it, or do you buy it on the decline and get a bargain?
Things that lead to a stock’s rise:
-
a positive change in haircut, wardrobe or appearance
-
fiscal responsibility (ie has a handle on their bills, tithes)
-
walk with God
-
attitude
-
positive decisions
-
people that they keep around and receive counsel from
Things that lead to a stock’s decline
-
negative change in appearance (ie bad haircuts, growing out crazy dreadlocks, tucking in football jersey’s into jeans-you know it’s true)
-
negative influences (crazy friends, crazy ex boyfriends/girlfriends)
-
whack attitude
-
anything that is contrary to righteousness
-
baggage
Different stock categories:
Pre-IPO-on the way to being a marketable stock, exemplifies upward change to the positive, this is a stock that when it goes IPO will sell like HOTCAKES. Example startup companies.
IPO- a stock that has been well managed in pre-IPO stage, and is extremely marketable. There are a lot of buyers for this stock. We’re talking the likes of Google and Apple crazy valuable stocks.
Blackout Period- stock that you should not touch until the owner fixes some things that have gone wrong in preIPO stage. This stock can be marketable, as soon as the positive changes are made. The likes of auto stock right now- the market can change if the environment inclines.
Declining stock- Things aren’t looking good for this stock, there has been a downward trend in it’s handling.
Crashed- minesweeper, this stock is going out of business and not in a good way. Think internet stocks after 9-11.
Just another crazy midnight conversation…that makes you go hmmm…
